ELD for Concrete Pumping Fleets

Factor ELD helps concrete pumping fleets evaluate the road-travel and driver-record parts of their work. Bring the truck configuration and a complete job sequence so the team can distinguish vehicle connection from pumping-equipment functions.

Distinguish the road truck from the pumping system

Identify the vehicle that travels to the job and the driver who also performs site duties, if that matches your operation. Build the sample day from departure through setup, pumping-related work, cleanup and return. A parked vehicle does not mean its driver has stopped working.

Confirm the road vehicle’s engine and connector individually. Connection to a truck does not establish support for pump controls, boom movement, concrete volume or PTO measurements. Those need separate documented equipment capabilities.

Concrete pumping evaluation worksheet

Job stageQuestion for the ELD review
Road travelIs the actual driver assigned to the correct truck and device?
Site setupWhat work does the driver perform before pumping starts?
Pumping intervalWhich duties and responsibilities continue while stationary?
Cleanup and returnDoes the record review cover remaining work and travel?

Bring the actual truck configuration

The Factor PT30 manual describes vehicle selection and log review. Ask to see those tasks for the proposed product, then use the job sequence to review the driver’s actual activity with the office.

Have the carrier assess applicable rules for the pumping operation. Do not assume that a provision written for a ready-mixed concrete delivery vehicle applies unchanged to a concrete pump, or that all construction work is exempt.

For the broader fleet discussion, see construction. Use the ELD rollout checklist to assign training and review responsibilities, and check ELD applicability for the actual operation.

Concrete pumping questions

Will the ELD measure pumped concrete or control the boom?

Not within the driver-log scope described here. Confirm any separate equipment integration before including it in the proposal.

Can ready-mix rule assumptions simply be copied to a concrete pump?

No. Establish the actual vehicle and operation and review the relevant provisions separately.

Discuss your concrete pumping ELD setup

Contact Factor ELD to discuss ELD equipment and support for your concrete pumping fleets. Bring the worksheet and representative vehicle details to a demo built around your operation.
