Keep each shift tied to its actual driver
Choose a road truck used by more than one shift and identify when responsibility changes. Include any vehicle movement between assignments. A truck remaining at the same facility does not make the outgoing account appropriate for the incoming driver.
Water volume, fluid classification, pickup authorization and disposal records remain separate. An ELD record does not measure a tank or validate a receiving ticket.
Oilfield water hauling evaluation worksheet
| Shift checkpoint | Acceptance question |
|---|---|
| Outgoing driver | Last assignment and unresolved record issue identified? |
| Between shifts | Person responsible for any movement established? |
| Incoming driver | Correct named account, selected truck and connection? |
| Office review | Earlier records available without mixing driver histories? |
Bring the actual truck configuration
Use the login and vehicle-selection tasks in the Factor PT30 manual for a parked demonstration. Confirm each road-truck engine, connector and mobile-device combination individually.
Have the carrier assess the relevant rules independently of the oilfield label. No special duty-status treatment or exemption is promised for every water-hauling operation.
For the broader fleet discussion, see oilfield. Use the ELD rollout checklist to assign training and review responsibilities, and check ELD applicability for the actual operation.
Oilfield water hauling questions
Can shifts share one driver login because they share a truck?
No. Use the correct named account and authorized handoff procedure for each actual driver.
Does the ELD reconcile tank volumes or disposal receipts?
Not within this driver-record scope. Those require their own measurement and business records.
