Account for work after the truck parks
Choose a sample appliance route and describe what the driver does at each address. Include any carrying, setup, collection or other assigned duties that apply to the role. The fact that the truck remains stationary does not make that work disappear from the day.
Installation certification, customer signatures, product serial numbers and removed-item records belong to their own processes. The ELD review does not verify electrical, plumbing or appliance-service work.
Appliance delivery evaluation worksheet
| Route stage | Question to answer |
|---|---|
| Before departure | What loading and preparation work occurs? |
| Customer address | What duties does the driver actually perform? |
| Removed or returned items | Does handling create additional work or another stop? |
| Depot return | What unloading and closeout duties remain? |
Bring the actual truck configuration
The Factor PT30 manual documents driver login, vehicle selection and logs. Ask to see those tasks for the proposed configuration and confirm each engine, connector and phone combination.
Keep helper roles distinct from driver identity. Where another person also drives, establish the correct supported handoff rather than sharing a single driver account.
For the broader fleet discussion, see delivery. Use the ELD rollout checklist to assign training and review responsibilities, and check ELD applicability for the actual operation.
Appliance delivery questions
Can installation-related work be omitted because it happens away from the cab?
Review the driver’s actual assigned work under the applicable rules.
Does the ELD approve appliance installation?
No. Installation quality and certification require separate qualified processes.
