Include the work between short road segments
Choose a route that shows how your driver delivers feed: a single destination or several stops, with the driver’s actual unloading responsibilities described. A short drive between customers can be followed by substantial work at the stop; the route sheet and driver record should explain both.
Keep the amount of feed delivered and the unloading equipment’s operation in their proper business or equipment records. An ELD installation alone does not measure delivered weight, auger performance or product condition.
Animal feed delivery evaluation worksheet
| Route element | Review question |
|---|---|
| Before departure | Which driver and truck are assigned, and what loading work occurred? |
| Each unloading stop | What does the driver do while the vehicle is stationary? |
| Change of order | Who communicates a revised destination and reviews the assignment? |
| Return to the base | What return travel and remaining work belong in the day? |
Bring the actual truck configuration
Give Factor ELD the road vehicle’s engine and connector details as well as the phone or tablet version. Do not assume that connection to the truck also provides data from its feed-unloading equipment.
The PT30 documentation includes selecting the vehicle and reviewing logs. Ask to see those tasks with a sample feed route and an office reviewer. Any claim to an agricultural or other exception needs its own current rule assessment.
For the broader fleet discussion, see agriculture. Use the ELD rollout checklist to assign training and review responsibilities, and check ELD applicability for the actual operation.
Animal feed delivery questions
Does the device measure how much feed a customer receives?
That is outside the driver-log scope described here. Confirm any separate measurement or integration requirement explicitly.
Is time operating unloading equipment automatically a break?
No. Establish the actual duties and apply the relevant status rules instead of treating all stationary time as rest.
