Verify the new driver on the existing vehicle
Choose a truck already used for deliveries and a newly assigned seasonal driver. A previously installed device does not establish that the new driver can select the vehicle, review records or find the required support instructions.
Include loading, customer-site handling, returns and closeout work in the example day. Material quantities, spreading or unloading equipment and customer acceptance remain separate business requirements.
Landscape supply delivery evaluation worksheet
| Introduction step | Acceptance evidence |
|---|---|
| Named account | Correct driver identity and authorized access |
| Vehicle selection | Physical truck matches the selected number or VIN |
| Sample delivery day | Actual driving and other duties reviewed |
| Support exercise | Driver can identify the installed configuration and support route |
Bring the actual truck configuration
Use the vehicle-selection and log-review tasks in the PT30 manual for the proposed version. Confirm the actual truck engine, connector and mobile device rather than inheriting an undocumented setup.
Have the carrier review applicability and any exception for the actual operation. A seasonal delivery business or a short customer route does not itself provide the complete answer.
For the broader fleet discussion, see delivery. Use the ELD rollout checklist to assign training and review responsibilities, and check ELD applicability for the actual operation.
Landscape supply delivery questions
Can the seasonal driver use the previous employee’s account?
No. Establish the correct named identity and authorized assignment.
Does the ELD measure delivered mulch, soil or stone?
Not within this driver-log scope. Keep material measurement and receipt records separately.
