Build the seasonal assignment matrix
Choose the road vehicles used for deliveries and identify which regular or seasonal drivers may operate each one. A device installed earlier in the year does not establish that a newly assigned driver can select the right truck, review records or find support.
Include loading, customer-site work and return duties in the example day. Keep plant condition, turf-handling and delivery-acceptance records in their own processes rather than treating a logged stop as proof of product quality.
Nursery and sod delivery evaluation worksheet
| Matrix entry | Acceptance check |
|---|---|
| Regular driver / usual truck | Correct named account, vehicle and connection |
| Seasonal driver / existing truck | Individual demonstration of login, records and support access |
| Any driver / spare truck | Configuration fit and a parked vehicle-change exercise |
| End of delivery route | Record review includes return and remaining driver work |
Bring the actual truck configuration
Use the PT30 vehicle-selection instructions to frame the demonstration for that product version. Have each driver identify the physical truck and selected vehicle together; do not use one person’s successful test as everyone’s training record.
Send Factor ELD the engine, connector and mobile-device details for the proposed equipment. The carrier should separately assess any agricultural or short-haul exception against the actual operation and current conditions.
For the broader fleet discussion, see agriculture. Use the ELD rollout checklist to assign training and review responsibilities, and check ELD applicability for the actual operation.
Nursery and sod delivery questions
Can one trained driver’s result stand in for all seasonal staff?
No. Each driver needs to demonstrate the tasks required for their assigned configuration.
Does transporting nursery stock automatically settle ELD applicability?
No. The operation and conditions of any exception still need a specific review.
