Waste hauling can combine many short movements with longer road segments to a transfer station or landfill. Factor ELD provides electronic driving records and duty-status logs for reviewing the driver's day. Use a complete collection-and-disposal cycle in the demonstration rather than a single road trip.
Include the work performed between movements, the time spent at the disposal facility and the return to service. Your fleet's procedure should reflect what the driver is doing; the vehicle being stopped is not enough to determine the appropriate status.
Plan for shared trucks and changing assignments
Factor ELD offers setup guidance, a driver app and 24/7 multilingual support. Identify who uses each truck, how shifts change and who reviews an unassigned movement in the office. Add a maintenance-related truck move to the discussion if that occurs in your operation.
Check the device connection and installation for the actual truck. Explain any cab layout, mounting or power questions before choosing hardware. Tracking and other fleet options can also be discussed, with their equipment and plan requirements confirmed separately.

Have your compliance lead review any short-haul exception using the actual reporting location, route and workday. Local collection work should not be treated as a blanket ELD exemption.
