ELD for Milk Haulers

Factor ELD helps milk haulers evaluate an ELD setup around repeated pickups, delivery and subsequent truck work. Use a representative collection run to review driver identity, vehicle connection and the complete activity record.

Trace the collection run beyond the last pickup

Describe a sample run with more than one pickup and delivery to a receiving facility. Mark where the driver performs work, waits, changes assignments or takes the vehicle for cleaning. The purpose is to review the driver’s day rather than to recreate the product collection record inside the ELD.

Milk quality, sampling, temperature and sanitation records remain separate. Do not use a truck location or duty event as proof that a product-handling requirement was met.

Bring the actual truck configuration

Ask Factor ELD to demonstrate log review and vehicle selection for the proposed configuration, using the PT30 manual where applicable. A change of tractor or mobile device should have a clear identification and record-access check.

Confirm the truck, engine, connector and mobile-device combination before ordering. Have the carrier review any agricultural exception separately; neither a food-grade tank nor the commodity label establishes an exception for every part of the run.

For the broader fleet discussion, see tanker. Use the ELD rollout checklist to assign training and review responsibilities, and check ELD applicability for the actual operation.

Milk hauling questions

Will the ELD certify washout or milk temperature?

No. Those records require the relevant product-handling process or separately verified equipment.

Should the review stop when the milk is delivered?

Include any remaining driving and driver work, such as the trip to a cleaning facility or the next assignment.
