ELD for Septic and Vacuum Truck Fleets

Factor ELD helps septic and vacuum truck fleets review road travel and stationary service work together. Bring the exact truck configuration and driver duties so the ELD proposal stays separate from pumping and load-measurement functions.

Include service work while the vehicle is parked

Use a sample call with travel to the site, preparation, pumping-related duties, cleanup and a trip to discharge or return. Identify which tasks the driver actually performs. The end of road travel is not automatically the end of work.

Waste classification, tank volume, pump performance and disposal acceptance require separate records. An ELD connected to the road truck does not establish support for those measurements.

Septic and vacuum truck service evaluation worksheet

Service stageQuestion for the record review
Outbound travelCorrect named driver, vehicle and connection?
Customer siteWhat preparation and pumping-related work is performed?
Discharge tripRoad movement and receiving duties included?
ReturnRemaining cleanup and other driver work accounted for?

Bring the actual truck configuration

Ask Factor ELD to demonstrate vehicle selection and log review for the proposed product, using the PT30 manual where applicable. Confirm engine, connector and mobile-device compatibility individually.

Have the carrier review operational and cargo requirements separately. Do not treat a vacuum-truck body, local route or service-business label as a complete ELD applicability decision.

For the broader fleet discussion, see waste hauling. Use the ELD rollout checklist to assign training and review responsibilities, and check ELD applicability for the actual operation.

Septic and vacuum truck service questions

Does the ELD measure pumped volume or tank contents?

Not within this driver-log scope. Verify separate sensors or integrations explicitly.

Can all time at the customer be marked as rest?

No. Determine the driver’s actual work and responsibilities under the applicable rules.
