Frequent trailer changes, personal-use pickups, mixed intrastate/interstate work, and changing combined ratings make equipment and rule assignment the central workflow. Keep vehicle, trailer, weight-rating, commerce, and trip evidence together.

A pickup used for an intrastate trip is assigned an interstate load with a heavier trailer. Before dispatch, check the truck and trailer ratings, route, driver, and applicable rules. Then select the required recordkeeping method; the label “hotshot” does not determine the answer.
