Separate discharge work from the road segment
Use a sample bulk-cement delivery that identifies loading, road travel, receiving preparation, discharge and return work. The driver may still have duties while the truck is stationary; review the actual task rather than relying on the location alone.
Keep terminal release, delivered quantity and pneumatic equipment performance in their appropriate records. This ELD discussion does not claim to measure tank pressure, material flow or silo capacity.
Cement tanker hauling evaluation worksheet
| Stage | Check to include |
|---|---|
| Terminal | Named account and correct road-truck assignment |
| Road segment | Vehicle identity and required earlier-record access |
| Receiving plant | Actual preparation and unloading duties |
| After discharge | Remaining work and next assignment |
Bring the actual truck configuration
The PT30 manual describes driver log review and vehicle selection. Ask to see both for the proposed version, using the delivery sequence rather than a generic empty demonstration account.
Provide the engine, connector and mobile-device details for each truck configuration. Confirm any separate equipment integration in the written scope instead of assuming a road-truck connection captures unloading machinery.
For the broader fleet discussion, see tanker. Use the ELD rollout checklist to assign training and review responsibilities, and check ELD applicability for the actual operation.
Cement tanker hauling questions
Does the ELD certify silo or tanker pressure?
No. Use the relevant equipment and operating procedures for those measurements.
Should the record review end at arrival at the plant?
Include the driver’s actual unloading, return and other remaining work.
