Review the driver’s whole event assignment
Use a sample worker who drives equipment to an event and also helps at the site. Identify preparation, travel, setup, any later duties, teardown and return. Time away from the wheel is not automatically rest when the worker is still performing assigned tasks.
Keep event permits, production readiness, rigging and equipment inventory in their own processes. The ELD review addresses driver activity; it does not certify the event or technical installation.
Event production trucking evaluation worksheet
| Event stage | Question for the review |
|---|---|
| Load and departure | When does the worker begin assigned duties? |
| Setup | What work continues after arrival? |
| Between event tasks | Is the worker actually relieved from responsibilities? |
| Teardown and return | Complete work and road assignment reviewed before departure? |
Bring the actual truck configuration
Ask Factor ELD to demonstrate vehicle selection and record review on the proposed setup, using the PT30 manual where applicable. Confirm the road-truck engine, connector and mobile device.
If a relief driver takes the return trip, establish the correct named account and earlier-record access. Do not use a new driver login to hide work performed by the same person.
For the broader fleet discussion, see expedited freight. Use the ELD rollout checklist to assign training and review responsibilities, and check ELD applicability for the actual operation.
Event production trucking questions
Is time setting up an event automatically off duty?
No. Review the actual work and responsibilities under the applicable rules.
Does the ELD prove that stage or rigging equipment is safe?
No. Those require their own qualified inspections and documentation.
