Check the assignment after equipment changes
Use a sample resin delivery that follows a tractor, trailer or phone change. Identify which component changed and which driver remains responsible for the trip. A new trailer number and a new connected road vehicle are different events and should not be confused.
Product purity, trailer cleaning, resin quantity and unloading-system performance require their own evidence. An ELD connection to the tractor does not validate those material-handling conditions.
Plastics resin hauling evaluation worksheet
| Changed item | Question for acceptance |
|---|---|
| Trailer | Does the shipment paperwork remain distinct from the truck identity? |
| Tractor | Does the selected vehicle match the newly assigned physical truck? |
| Phone or tablet | Can the authorized driver connect and retrieve required records? |
| Next trip | Are unresolved record and assignment issues closed? |
Bring the actual truck configuration
Use the Factor PT30 vehicle-change workflow to test a parked tractor handoff for that product version. Confirm the engine, connector and mobile-device fit of the incoming configuration rather than assuming the previous result transfers.
Ask the office reviewer to inspect the resulting assignment and earlier-record access. Keep any separate loading or material-traceability integration outside the ELD offer until explicitly verified.
For the broader fleet discussion, see tanker. Use the ELD rollout checklist to assign training and review responsibilities, and check ELD applicability for the actual operation.
Plastics resin hauling questions
Does changing a trailer require pretending that the tractor changed?
No. Keep the identities separate and follow the product’s correct assignment procedure.
Can the ELD verify resin purity or trailer cleanliness?
Not within the driver-log scope described here. Use the appropriate cargo and equipment records.
