Separate container identity from vehicle identity
Use a day with a container delivery, a swap and a trip to a receiving facility. Identify the road truck and driver independently of the container number. Changing a container does not mean the connected road vehicle changed.
Include the driver’s preparation, positioning and container-handling duties in the sample review. Container inventory, condition and customer placement instructions remain separate records.
Roll-off container hauling evaluation worksheet
| Job event | Review question |
|---|---|
| Container drop | What driving and handling work occurs? |
| Container swap | Is truck identity distinct from the container identifier? |
| Receiving trip | Are road travel and actual waiting duties included? |
| Driver or truck change | Is the next assignment and earlier-record access verified? |
Bring the actual truck configuration
Ask Factor ELD to demonstrate the vehicle-selection check described in the PT30 manual for the proposed version. Confirm the engine, connector and mobile device for each truck configuration.
Do not assume that connecting an ELD also tracks every detached container or measures the load. Discuss any additional asset-tracking capability as a separate verified product requirement.
For the broader fleet discussion, see waste hauling. Use the ELD rollout checklist to assign training and review responsibilities, and check ELD applicability for the actual operation.
Roll-off container hauling questions
Does a container swap require selecting a different truck?
Keep the identifiers distinct and follow the correct product procedure for the actual vehicle assignment.
Will the ELD locate a detached container automatically?
That capability is not established by the driver-log setup described here.
