Factor PT30: First Login and Vehicle Connection

After the correct hardware and cable are installed, use your assigned Factor account, select the right vehicle and confirm the ELD connection while parked.

Use the correct app and account

Open Factor downloads for the linked Android or iOS app. “PT30” identifies hardware; it is not a sufficient app name. The published Factor PT30 manual says to contact the fleet manager or safety team if you do not have an ELD account.

Connect in the documented order

  1. Sign in with your assigned username and password.
  2. On Select Vehicle, match the vehicle number or VIN. If the truck was preassigned, check that assignment. To change it, use Menu → Change Vehicle.
  3. Choose the ELD associated with that truck. Follow any connection error shown by the app.
  4. The PT30 manual shows a green connection icon at the top right when connected. Confirm the truck identity as well as the icon.
  5. Set the correct duty status and complete the carrier’s acceptance procedure before service.

Stop at an unresolved mismatch

If the VIN, truck or connection is wrong, contact the carrier or Factor support. Do not choose an administrator role, a different truck or an unrelated device merely to get past setup. Do not delete the app or stored logs as a first troubleshooting step.

The full installation guide covers cable confirmation and acceptance checks. Button names here come from the registered PT30 manual and may differ in other Factor versions.
